GREYPOWER IS REGISTERED WITH THE SOUTH AFRICAN INFORMATION REGULATOR AND HAS A DETAILED POLICY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT, ACT NO. 4 OF 2013.
GreyPower’s privacy policy covers the various aspects which need to be addressed in terms of the abovementioned Act. In short, it entails that personal information provided by members, will only be utilised for the purpose for which it was made available. Use of the information for any other purpose will be subject to prior authorisation by the relevant member.
Information furnished to GreyPower is made available to enable the organisation to deal with membership matters, to provide information of interest to members and to enable them to participate in activities and projects that fall in their field of interest and expertise. Utilisation of the information is, therefore, intended to be used in order to render the best possible service to members.
For the execution of its activities, GreyPower co-operates very closely with various firms that also sponsor or finance many of the projects that are undertaken and in the process of co-operation it may be necessary the some of the personal information be made available, but this will only be done if essential to the success of the project; on condition that the privacy of the information be respected as required by the abovementioned Act; and that it will not be used for any other purpose.
It may be necessary to disclose the information in terms of legal requirements.
Members may request that the information be updated, corrected or deleted.
